Arrowhail Keep - Highlights
A year ago she made her way to this site, and founded the keep on the site of an ancient fortress. She broguht with her experts of a variety of sorts and led dozens fo farmers, trappers, and miners. in addition she brought several close associates (see above). Her trusted bodyguard and attaché for this mission was _______________ a Quickling Faen Oathsworn long in the Lord's service.
Arrowhail Keep and its settlement appears to thrive on trade with the trappers, prospectors, and farmers. In fact, the city is heavily subsidized by Ai-Reyona. Still, it does well given this support in the face of considerable adversity. The area is frequently harassed by Bearcats who come down from the Ironwood hills, and Spidereye Goblins that spill up from the FractureCrags seasonally. Typically the winter hails the Bearcats and the spring brings the Spidereye Goblins. The keep was named for the night the warriors of the keep (officially known as Em-Tarel) shot hundreds of arrows across the river at an army of Spidereye Goblins fording the river. After hours of 'hailing' arrows on the creatures, there was finally silence. When the dawn finally broke, the river had cleared away most of the Spidereye Goblin carcasses. Forward scouts returning from their expeditions reported seeing dozens of bodies floating down the river. Since then, the wooden palisade has been replaced with stone turrets.
The Keep also sports two towers on the opposite banks of the rivers connected by wooden bridges (being replaced with stone). The towers are designed so that if captured they provide no means of attacking the keep.
The keep houses a small garrison, a tower, a smithy, some small shops, and temporary housing for the farmers and trappers in times of emergencies.
Just outside the keep between the two rivers is a fair amount of cleared land owned by giantish estatelords are worked by a variety of populations (human, sibeccai, faen and others). There are small homesteads across the rivers near the two bridges but they are mostly homes for the trappers, hunters, and prospectors that travel most of the year, so they are rarely occupied.
